How the finger-prick (capillary) test works
After purchase, a finger-prick blood test kit is posted to your address with full instructions.
You collect the sample at home, label it as instructed, and return it using the packaging provided.
The sample is analysed by an external UKAS-accredited laboratory. Results are then reviewed alongside your symptoms, health history and current GLP-1 use.
Turnaround time
Once your sample has been received by the laboratory, results are typically available within 1–3 working days, depending on the tests included.
Turnaround times are calculated from the date the sample arrives at the laboratory and are quoted in working days (Monday to Friday).
If a sample cannot be processed
Occasionally a sample may be unsuitable for analysis, for example due to insufficient volume, labelling issues or delays in transit.
If repeat testing is required, additional charges for a replacement kit and/or postage may apply.

Once a test kit has been dispatched or a sample has been received by the laboratory, refunds are not available.

If a sample cannot be processed
In rare cases, a laboratory sample may be unsuitable for analysis. This can happen due to delays in transit, incorrect sample collection, missing or incorrect paperwork, or labelling issues.
Where a test needs to be repeated for these reasons, a £25 retest fee may apply to cover laboratory processing and administration costs.
Please follow the sample collection, labelling, paperwork and posting instructions included with your test kit carefully to avoid any additional charges.
If a sample cannot be processed due to a fault with the test kit or a laboratory error, no retest fee will apply. This does not affect your statutory rights under UK consumer law.
